The Beginning

Dogpatch Arkansas is a country band with deep Arkansas roots and a home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Founded by singer, songwriter, and musician Jody Gould, the band brings together country music, Southern roots, seasoned musicianship, and songs shaped by faith, family, life experience, and the battles we all face. 

Originally formed in Arkansas, Dogpatch Arkansas carries that Ozark and Southern influence into everything we do. Our sound is rooted in the storytelling tradition of country music, blending strong melodies, heartfelt vocals, guitars, fiddle, mandolin, and acoustic instruments with both traditional and modern country influences.

At the heart of Dogpatch Arkansas are strong Christian values, faith, family, and the belief that God is faithful through every season of life. Those values shape the way we live, the songs we write, and the message we hope people carry with them long after the music stops.

Our songs come from real life — struggle, hope, redemption, family, starting over, waiting for the right person and the right time, and learning to trust God through the battles we all face.

Some of our music is stripped down and acoustic, while other songs bring the energy of a full country band. Whether we are playing a festival, fair, or theater, our goal is to make country music that connects with people and reflects the values that matter most to us.
